14 Match Unbeaten: Liverpool Hits Milestone in Newcastle Win

A brace from Sadio Mane and a third from Mohammed Salah ensured that Liverpool did not only earn a 3-1 win over Newcastle but, a added record of becoming the first club-side in the topflight history to win 14 consecutive matches.

During this feat, Liverpool knocked Barcelona out of the Champions League semi-finals, beat Tottenham in the Final and then Chelsea in the Super Cup.

According to sports statistics company, Opta Joe, the 3 goals scored also means Liverpool are the first team in top-flight history to score more than once in each of the 14 wins.

Also for the second consecutive season, Liverpool have won their opening five games of the Premier League campaign – the only previous two teams to do so in back-to-back seasons were Chelsea (2009-10/2010-11) and Man City (2015-16/2016-17).

The reds last lost in the English premier League to Manchester city and have since then gone on a record 14 match unbeaten in the league.
